Keep all communications within 37th Place
Never move conversations to external platforms
Report attempts to communicate outside the platform

5. Scam Prevention

Watch for rushed transactions or pressure to decide quickly
Avoid unsecured payment methods or requests for cash upfront
Never send money without verification or before receiving items
Use our in-app messaging system for all communications
Verify items match photos before completing trades
Be cautious of trades that seem "too good to be true"
Never provide personal financial information (bank details, SSN, etc.)
Report users who pressure you into quick decisions
Trust your instincts if something feels wrong
Red flags to watch for: Poor grammar in messages, refusal to video chat, asks to move communication off-platform, demands immediate decisions, offers unrealistic value trades, won't provide additional photos when requested
Account warning signs: Very new accounts with no history, multiple similar listings, refuses to meet in public, provides inconsistent information about items

6. Reporting System

Report suspicious accounts immediately
Document any concerning behavior
Cooperate with investigation teams

7. Safe Transactions

Use only platform-approved payment methods
Never share personal banking information
Avoid cryptocurrency and gift card payments
Keep payment records and confirmations

8. Prohibited Items

No illegal goods or services
No counterfeit products
No weapons or hazardous materials
No misleading or false advertisements

9. In-Person Safety

Meet in well-lit, public locations (shopping centers, coffee shops, police station parking lots)
Bring a companion when possible - never meet alone for high-value trades
Share meeting details with trusted contacts including time, location, and trader information
Choose safe payment methods over cash when possible
Never meet at private homes for initial trades - build trust through smaller public exchanges first
Trust your instincts - if someone makes you uncomfortable, leave immediately
Meet during daylight hours when possible
Consider bringing items to the meeting for verification before final exchange
Have an exit strategy and transportation arranged independently

10. Age and Parental Supervision

We recommend parents create joint accounts with their children
Minors should never meet traders alone - always have adult supervision

11. Platform Expectations and Limitations

No guaranteed outcomes - Successful trades depend on user engagement and mutual interest
Platform operates like social networking - responses are not guaranteed and users may not reply
Users may not respond to messages or trade requests for various reasons
Some items may be harder to trade than others based on demand and local interest
Premium features improve visibility but don't guarantee trades or responses
All purchases are final - plan your spending accordingly and understand the risks
Important: We facilitate connections only - we cannot force users to respond or complete trades
Success depends on factors outside our control: item desirability, local market, timing, user activity
Platform quality depends on active user participation in your area

12. Platform Liability and User Responsibility

37th Place is a facilitating platform only. We provide a marketplace for users to connect, but we are NOT responsible for:

What users do with items received through trades
User-to-user interactions, disputes, or harm
Verifying item authenticity, condition, or legality
User safety during in-person meetings
Fraudulent activity by other users
Item quality, functionality, or safety issues
User behavior outside our platform

Your Responsibilities as an Adult User:

Verify all details before completing trades

Resolve disputes directly with other users
